LAKE CHARLES— McNeese softball, the four-peat regular season champions, will host Lamar (11-10) this weekend in its Southland Conference opening series beginning with a single game at 6 p.m. Friday night. The series will conclude with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday. All three games will stream on ESPN+.

McNeese (16-7) is coming off a 14-9 road win at Houston on Tuesday while Lamar is coming off a 10-5 home win over Sam Houston on Tuesday.

The Cowgirls enter the game leading the conference in 10 categories including batting average (.325), hits (195), homeruns (26), RBI (128) and walks (110). The 110 walks on the season is good for fourth in the nation.
