LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's tennis will close out the regular season at home with two Southland Conference matches beginning with an 11 a.m. match against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday, April 11.  The regular season finale will take place on Monday, April 13 in an 11 a.m. match against UTRGV.

McNeese has already clinched a share of the regular season title, only the second in program history but one more win in one of its final two matches would give the Cowgirls the outright title.

Heading into Saturday's match, the Cowgirls are 19-1 overall and 7-0 in the SLC and are riding a 14-match winning streak, the second longest winning streak in program history and the seven match conference winning streak is also the second best in conference history.

One more win would also tie the record for most overall wins in program history.  The 2024 team won 20 matches under head coach Gabby Moore.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (16-3, 6-2 SLC) enters the match in third place behind second place Northwestern State (11-6, 7-2 SLC).  The Islanders, who have won seven Southland regular season titles including the last three have been the team to beat.

TAMU-CC holds an overall 19-5 record against McNeese and are 12-1 against McNeese in the last 13 matches and have won the last nine straight matches against the Cowgirls.  The last McNeese win over the Islanders was a 5-2 home win on March 26, 2018.
