LAKE CHARLES – McNeese baseball (21-19, 10-11) opens a four-game home stand Tuesday as it hosts Louisiana Tech (24-17, 11-7) in a midweek match up. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Cowboys are coming off a conference series loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, dropping two of three games and snapping a four-game win streak. McNeese outhit TAMU-CC 28-26 over the weekend, recording six doubles, one triple, and seven home runs in the series.
Louisiana Tech enters the match up following a Conference USA series win over Kennesaw State, taking two of three games. Colby Lunsford, Matt Houston, and Trey Hawsey each hit home runs over the weekend, while the Bulldogs outhit Kennesaw State 32-20 in the series.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season, with McNeese earning an 8-3 win in Ruston on February 18.
Jake Blackwell picked up his first win of the year in that game, while
Eric Nachtsheim recorded his first save. The Cowboys outhit the Bulldogs 14-7, highlighted by five doubles and one home run.
