LAKE CHARLES— McNeese softball (31-18) will step out of Southland Conference action to host UL-Lafayette (25-22) at 6 p.m. Tuesday night in its regular season home game. The game will stream on ESPN+.Â

The game is the second of the season with the Ragin' Cajuns picking up a 5-2 win in Lafayette on March 24. The Cajuns have won seven of the last eight games against the Cowgirls.Â

McNeese, winners of its last four games are coming off a home SLC series sweep over Stephen F. Austin over the weekend while the Cajuns enter the game on a three-game winning streak after a home Sun Belt sweep over Coastal Carolina.

The Cowgirls enter the game with 12 players batting over .300.Â
Kassidy Chance leads the team with a .404 batting average with 44 hits, five doubles two triples and 25 RBI.Â
Maddie Taylor (.304) leads the team with 40 RBI and nine homeruns. Taylor also leads the pitching staff in wins with 12. She enters the game with a 12-4 record, 4.17 ERA, 54 strikeouts in 90.2 innings.Â
Brookelyn Taylor is 10-6 on the season with a 3.34 ERA and a staff high 74 strikeouts.
