LAKE CHARLES—  McNeese softball will head to East Texas this weekend to face East Texas A&M in its final Southland Conference Series with Southland Conference Tournament Bracket Play implications on the line. 
 
The top two teams in the SLC will host a four-team bracket play tournament next week.  Southeastern, who clinched the 2026 regular season title will host one of the two bracket-play tournaments.
 
The East Texas A&M series will begin with a 5 p.m. doubleheader on Friday.  The series will conclude with a 12 p.m. single game on Saturday.
 
McNeese (32-18, 15-9 SLC) enters the weekend tied for third place with Nicholls.  UIW is in second place with a 16-8 conference record.  UIW will travel to Hammond this weekend and Nicholls travels to Northwestern State.  The Cowgirls and Colonels are both one game out of second place. 
 
East Texas A&M enters the weekend in last place in the SLC standings with a 6-43 overall record and 1-23 in the SLC.
 
McNEESE NOTES
