Cowboys Hit the Road for Midweek Clash at Houston

HOUSTON, TEXAS – McNeese baseball (23-21, 11-13) hits the road for its final midweek match up of the season, traveling to face Houston (18-24, 4-17) on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

The Cowboys are coming off a conference series loss to UT Rio Grande Valley, dropping two of three games, with both losses extending into extra innings. McNeese recorded 19 runs on 34 hits over the weekend, including 11 extra-base hits. Eric Nachtsheim increased his season total to 96 strikeouts, moving into seventh place in program history for strikeouts in a single season.

The Cougars enter the game following a Big 12 series loss to TCU, dropping all three games over the weekend. Houston travels to Nacogdoches on Tuesday to face Stephen F. Austin in a midweek contest before returning home to host McNeese on Wednesday and Cincinnati in a weekend series.

  • Three of the Cowboys' opponents this season advanced to the NCAA Regionals last year – Kansas, Houston Christian, and LSU, who won the College World Series against Coastal Carolina.
