Cowboys Play Host to Prairie View in Last Mid-Week Match-up

| By:
LAKE CHARLES – McNeese baseball will be looking to continue their great play in their final non-conference mid-week game Wednesday when they host Prairie View at 6 p.m. in Joe Miller Ballpark.

The Cowboys are coming off a series sweep of its Southland Conference opponent Stephen F. Austin this past weekend, allowing just 10 total hits, two total runs, zero extra base hits, and striking out 20 batters.

This will be the first and only meeting on the season between the Cowboys and Panthers in non-league action. McNeese won the last match-up 12-0 at Joe Miller Ballpark back on May 13. The Cowboys (26-22, 12-12 SLC) are looking to continue their success from a 3-1 week last week after losing to Southeastern La. on the road 4-3, followed by a weekend series win vs SFA over the weekend.

The Panthers (17-32, 9-14 SWAC) enter Wednesday's game losing six of their last seven games, their lone win coming in game three of their series against Southern, 12-2, to snap a six-game losing streak.

The starter for Wednesday's game will senior Bryan King. King (4-1) will be making his second start on the year, but his 18th appearance. In his last outing, King pitched 1.0 inning off relief against SFA, giving up no runs and no hits.
