| By:
LAKE CHARLES – Outgoing McNeese Cowboy golfer Blake Elliott has been named to the Division I PING All-America Third Team, the GCAA announced on Thursday.

The 2019 Southland Conference and Louisiana Player of the Year, Elliott is one of 30 golfers to be selected to one of the three teams while another 32 golfers picked up honorable mention honors.

Elliott ended the season ranked No. 13 in the nation and led the Cowboys and Southland Conference in scoring with a 70.47 stroke average in 12 tournaments played in the fall and spring seasons.

He posted two first place finishes (Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational, Louisiana Classics), two second place marks (Quail Valley Collegiate, Southland Conference Championships), and three fourth place finishes.

The Liberty Hill, Texas native qualified for the NCAA Austin Regional as an individual and missed out on advancing to the NCAA Championships by one stroke as he finished in a tie for eighth on the individual leaderboard.
