This will be the sixth meeting all-time between the two schools with McNeese holding a 4-1 advantage over the Lady Tigers.
The Cowgirls will be playing at home for the first time since Sunday September 1 when they beat Prairie View by a 3-0 score. McNeese has outscored its opponents by a 7-1 margin in its two home games.
Jackson State is coming off of a home opening loss to Southland Conference foe Northwestern State by a 1-0 score and dropping its record to 0-5 on the season.
Cowgirl junior midfielder Anna Watson leads the team in goals scored (3), assists (2) and total points (8) and has recorded at least one point in three of the five matches played this season.
McNeese, who dropped a 7-0 at Arkansas in its last outing on Sunday, will be looking to get back to solid play in the net from goalkeeper Kelly Hines, who has started all five games and has allowed just one goal at home.
Up next, McNeese will hit the road once again to play Texas State in San Marcos on Sunday afternoon at 1 in the final non-league game before Southland Conference action starts up next Friday at home against Southeastern Louisiana.
QUOTING HEAD COACH DREW FITZGERALD:
"Jackson state looks to be a much better organized squad than last year. We are looking to learn from our mistakes last weekend and put together a full match. They'll be tough to breakdown and dangerous in possession so it's a great opportunity to improve."
