FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference has announced the cancellation of Sunday's rescheduled women's soccer match between Lamar and McNeese in Lake Charles due to COVID-19 protocols.
The decision marks the end of the regular season for both programs, and each will receive a point for seeding purposes only in accordance with the conference's policy adopted by the athletic directors in January.
The Cowgirls (3-6-1 SLC) needed a win to qualify for the league postseason tournament while Lamar (7-3) was playing for a regular season championship. McNeese will end the season with 11 points, one short of earning a tournament spot.
