LAKE CHARLES - McNeese Baseball, the 2022 Southland Conference regular season champions, will host half of the league postseason tournament beginning Thursday, May 19, at Joe Miller Ballpark.
This will be the first time in school history the baseball program has hosted the league tourney.
The No. 1 seeded Cowboys (30-21, 15-9) defeated HBU 14-9 on Saturday in the regular-season finale to secure the undisputed regular season title, the fifth in school history and first since 2017. McNeese will play No. 8 UIW (19-29, 9-15) in the day's second game, beginning at 6 p.m.
No. 4 Nicholls (25-21, 13-11) will take on fifth-seeded Northwestern State (25-26, 12-12) at 1 p.m. to begin play.
All games will broadcast on ESPN+.
The tournament will continue on Friday at 1 p.m. with a loser's bracket game while the winners of the two teams will play at 6. Saturday's games will take place at 1 and 6 while a 1 o'clock game on Sunday will be played if necessary.
McNeese season ticket holders will get the chance to secure their seats for the tournament on Monday from 8-5 in person at the ticket office or by calling 337-562-4678. No general sales will be conducted at this time.
General sales, which will include lower and upper reserved seating and general admission, will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
All-tournament passes for adults will be $75 (reserved and GA) while single game adult tickets are $15 and youth (3-12 years) $10. Youth all-tournament pass (general admission only) will be $40. Children two and under will be admitted free. Students from Southland Conference schools will also be admitted free with a valid student I.D. And all professional scouts must purchase a ticket.

Southeastern Louisiana, the No. 2 seed, will host the other four-team bracket Thursday-Sunday. The Lions will play No. 7 Texas A&M-Corpus at 6 p.m. while No. 3 UNO will take on No. 6 HBU at 1.
The winners of the two brackets will meet in a best 2-out-of-3 championship series May 26-28 at the site of the highest remaining seed.
