EUGENE, Oregon - McNeese Cowgirl high jumper Sakari Famous will get her shot for a national championship on Saturday when the Southland Conference champion competes in the women's high jump at 4 p.m. CT at the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The McNeese and Bermuda National record holder, Famous is one of 24 competitors vying to become a National Champion or earn All-America honors. She'll jump 16th out of the 24.
She qualified for nationals after jumping 6-0.5 at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Bloomington, Indiana two weeks ago.
Famous is the only McNeese track athlete to qualify for nationals this season.
