McNeese hosts LSUA at 4 pm on Tuesday

Derrick Cherry is expected to get the pitching start.
LAKE CHARLES – McNeese baseball will be back in action on Tuesday when it hosts LSU-Alexandria at Joe Miller Ballpark.
 
The game has been moved up to a 4 p.m. start from its originally scheduled 6 o'clock time due to the threat of rain.
 
The Cowboys (26-13, 8-7 SLC) are coming off a Southland Conference series win over New Orleans this past weekend, notching their third consecutive series win. LSU-A is 27-16 on the year and has won 10 of its last 11 games.
 
McNeese is expected to start Derrick Cherry (3-2, 5.55 ERA) on the mound. His last start came against HCU back on April 1 and since then has made three appearances out of the bullpen including getting a save in a 7-6 win at Rice on April 12.
 
The Cowboys will be back in SLC action this weekend when they visit UIW. McNeese is currently in fourth place in the league standings while UIW is in second with a 9-6 record (22-18 overall). Nicholls (8-4) tops the standings with Northwestern State (7-5) sitting in third place. Following McNeese is A&M-Corpus Christi (6-6), New Orleans (7-8), HCU (5-7), Lamar (6-9) and Southeastern (4-8).
