Lake Charles, LA – As another MLB season steams past the halfway mark, several former Cowboys continue to represent a handful of teams, most notably, two at the highest level.

Recently earning a promotion to the Texas Rangers' club, Grant Anderson has appeared in 19 games on the season for a total of 27.2 innings. He's struck out 26 batters on the diamond and currently owns a 1-1 record with a 5.20 ERA. Anderson, a Port Arthur, Texas native, was chosen in the 2018 draft by the Seattle Mariners and recently made his debut on May 30 of the 2023 campaign.

Also representing at the league's highest level, Jace Peterson continues his lengthy career with the Oakland Athletics in his 10
th season in the show. He's collected 11 stolen bases on the season and earned 60 hits en route to scoring 29 runs for the A's. In addition to his batting performance, Peterson has pitched a couple of innings on the mound, collecting a strikeout in the process. Peterson is one of two former Cowboys in the pros currently that are from Lake Charles originally.

Several players have risen to the Double-A ranks where they currently reside, highlighted by former Pokes Will Dion, Cayne Ueckert, Bryan King, Austin Briggs, and Collin Kober.

Will Dion rose to the ranks of Double-A shortly after being named the Guardians Baseball Insider Single-A Pitcher of the Year in 2022. Dion was selected in the ninth round of the MLB Draft following his 2021 collegiate campaign. While playing for the Akron RubberDucks this season, Dion's compiled a 5-2 record with a 2.63 ERA over 12 starts through 17 appearances.

Two players from McNeese sit at the High-A level in
Cameron Foster, a 2022 draft pick, and Aidan Anderson. Foster was selected in the 14
th round last season by the New York Mets and own a 4-4 record and 4.61 ERA in 16 appearances (14 starts).Â

The most recent addition to the league's ranks was
Grant Rogers who was drafted in the 11
th round of the MLB Draft in mid-July by the Toronto Blue Jays. He finalized and signed his contract on July 20 after being named a consensus All-American in 2023 by all five major collegiate baseball publications.
