LAKE CHARLES, La. - The McNeese men and women's track and field programs swept the Cowboy Relays "Bob Hayes Louisiana Challenge" with freshman
Koen Beavers leading the charge, being a part of three gold medals of both team's total of 19 on the day.
Both the men and women's teams held at least a 60-point advantage over the runner ups with the men winning by 62 points and the women standing atop the podium with a 75-point margin of victory at the Bill and Lena Henning Track & Field Complex Saturday.
The Cowboys claimed nine first-place finishes with the women tallying one more at 10 in the outing.
Koen Baavers won an individual event in the 100m dash while assisting to victories in the 4x100m relay and 4x200m relays. Junior
Samuel Gray and redshirt senior
Jalon White both won two gold medals on the day spread out over the three relays.

Tia Andrews (4x100, 4x200) claimed two top finishes on the day with seniors
Makayla Heath (4x100, 4x200) and
Kayla Harrison (4x100, 4x400) also matching the feat. Freshman
Jashyra Thomas was further a part of two relays, the 4x400 and Sprint Medley, to earn two golds.
Both programs continue to improve upon the strong start to the outdoor season on the road at the ULL Louisiana Classics this upcoming Friday and Saturday.
