LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese men and women's cross country squads each earned third respectively at the Cowboy Stampede Saturday morning at the Enos Derbonne Sports Complex.
Junior
Danielle Salinas led the way for the Cowgirls with a sixth-place finish with a mark of 17:44.95. She improved her career best 5K by just under a full minute from her previous best 18:36.6 set last season.
Ryan McCarthy, a freshman, completed his first collegiate four-mile race in sixth with a mark of 19:32.90 to lead the Cowboys squad.
HCU took home first for the women's teams with UL-Lafayette taking home the silver followed by McNeese with the bronze. On the men's side, UL-Lafayette earned gold with HCU and McNeese coming in second and third respectively.
