FRISCO, Texas – After delivering clutch performances in back-to-back matches, McNeese midfielder
Alexi Pitt has been named the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning. Pitt is the first Cowgirl this season to earn the weekly conference honor.
Pitt played a pivotal role in sparking the Cowgirls' offense, scoring late goals in both matches last week to help secure critical results for McNeese.
In the match against Texas A&M-Commerce, Pitt netted the equalizer in the 89th minute, converting a setup from
Riley Hicock to level the score.
Just days later, she struck again, this time in the 89th minute against Nicholls, finishing off an assist from
Elizabeth Edomwonyi to clinch the Cowgirls' first Southland Conference win and first road victory of the season.
