LAFAYETTE – McNeese's outdoor track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Louisiana Classics here Saturday with one first place finish and four other top three finishes.
 
Grace McKenzie had a stellar day for the Cowgirls after she won the women's long jump with a personal record mark of 18-10.75 and finished third in the high jump at 5-5.75. Her long jump mark moved her into the No. 3 ranking in the Southland Conference. McKenzie also placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a wind-aided time of 14.03, also a personal record.
 
Lea Kiekenbeck took third place honors in the discus event with a throw of 135-8 to round out the Cowgirls athletes who posted top three finishes. Aleyah Donald placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.85 and Donald was joined on the 4x100-meter relay team by Diamond Lee, Victoria Pierson and Maegan Moore to finish fifth with a time of 47.38.
 
On the men's side, Hiram Morales placed third in the shot put with a mark of 54-4.5 while Darko Radakovic finished third in the discus throw at 158-9. The Cowboys also had three other top five finishes – Terrill Banks (4^th in the 400 meters at 48.92), Lentz Similien fourth in the high jump at 6-7.50, and Adriano Theriot fifth in the pole vault at 15-2.25.
 
Next up for the Cowboys and Cowgirls will be the Rice Victor Lopez Classic next Friday and Saturday in Houston.
