Riley Isaac is the first round leader of the Bama Beach Bash women's golf tournament following Friday's first round.
Saturday's second round (18 holes) will have an 8 a.m. shotgun start with the tournament concluding with 18 holes on Sunday.
Isaac shot a one under par 71 in Friday's first round and holds a one shot lead over Bethune- Cookman's Sumie Francois. The 71 by Isaac ties her lowest round of the spring, she also shot a first round 71 at the UT-Rio Grande Valley Invitational.
Riley opened the tournament with six straight pars before a birdie put her at one under par. She went on to par the next two holes then dropped two shots with back to back bogeys to put her one over par. She got one shot back with a birdie on no. 3 to bring her to even par. After a par on no. 4 she picked up another shot with a birdie on no. 5 to put her at one under par. She ended her day with four straight pars to post a 35 on her final nine holes to post her score of 71.
As a team, McNeese is in a fifth place, one shot out of fourth place with a round of 318. Bethune-Cookman has the team lead with a 297, six shots ahead of South Alabama's 303.
