WGolf: Cowgirls Drop One Spot At John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga.—McNeese women's golf team dropped one spot to 15th place at the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate following a second-round score of 328 Monday. The Cowgirls opened tournament play with a first round 324 on Sunday.
 
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
 
South Florida posted the best team round on Tuesday with a 293 to move into a first-place tie with Murray State who held the lead following the first round. Both teams will head into Tuesday's final round with a 596.
 
Rounding out the Top 5 is Oral Roberts in third place (603), Florida Gulf Coast (605), and the University of Albany (606).
 
Sophomore Anika Hovda shot the low round of the day for McNeese, posting an 80 and is tied for 45th place. Maria Garcia shot an 82 and is tied for 52nd place while Cameron Newhouse is tied for 66th place after a second round 83. Sunny Kilian also shot a second round 83 and is in 78th place and Karlei Hemler is tied for 82nd place after a posting 90 in today's round.
 
Jacksonville State's Paula Vega took over the individual lead after an even par 72 today. She has a 145 team total and holds a one shot lead over both South Florida's Natalia Villavicencio and Murray State's Linette Holmslykke with 146's.
