Rotzinger, Routzong, NG Join WG Team

WGOLF: Fluty Announces Three Additions To 20-21 Squad

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's golf head coach Mike Fluty announced the addition of three transfers (Carolina Rotzinger, Valerie Routzong, and Amy NG for the 2020-21 season.
 
Routzong and NG will join the Cowgirl squad as redshirt freshmen while Rotzinger will be a senior. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak all three received a redshirt year in the Spring.
 
Rotzinger lettered three years at Florida International and prior to the 2020 season being canceled, Rotzinger played in three events with a 78.3 stroke average. She completed her best tournament of the season at the Amelia Island Collegiate with a season low round of 72, a season-low tournament total of 229 and a season-high finish, placing 53rd. Rotzinger is a native of Puebla, Mexico where she attended American School Foundation of Puebla.
 
Routzong comes to McNeese via Wichita State and is a native of Richmond, Texas. She also played in three tournaments prior to the season being canceled. She produced an 81.1 stroke average with a low round of 75 at the Rio Verde Invitational. The Travis High School product was the winner of the 2019 STPGA Junior Golfer of the Year and was the 2019 girl's District 20-6A champion. Routzong was also a member of the 2019 South Texas PGA Ben Hogan Cup Team Qualifier and champion and placed seventh at the 2019 LJT Texas Junior Amateur.
 
NG is an Augusta University transfer who didn't compete during the 2019-20 season. The native of Johns Greek, Georgia attended Johns Creek High where she was a member of the 2017 6A State Championship team and the 2018 6A State Runners-Up. She earned all-state honors in 2018 and led her team in aces.
