HUNTSVILLE, Texas—McNeese women's golf team produced the second lowest team total with a 296 on the final round of the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational to finish in fourth place of the 11-team field. The Cowgirls ended tournament play with a 917, five shots behind third place UT-Arlington.
Sam Houston won the tournament with an 865 after a team total 283 on Tuesday. The Bearkats won by 42 shots over second place Houston Baptist. UT-Arlington finished third with a 912 followed by McNeese. Rounding out the Top 5 was Incarnate Word with a 924.
Texas A&M-CC placed sixth (932) followed by Bowling Green State (957), West Texas CC (969), Tyler JC (975), McClennan CC (993), and Prairie View (1025).
Sam Houston's Anna Takahashi carried her lead into the final round to walk away as the individual medalist after posting rounds of 75, 69, 72 for a 216 winning by five shots over teammates Jennifer Herbst and Leah Alberto who ended the tournament with 217's.
Riley Isaac led the Cowgirls with a 10
th place finish after a one over par 72 in the final round to finish with a 223.
Carolina Rotzinger placed 16
th with a 230,
Bethany Reid tied for 17
th place with a 231,
Anika Hovda tied for 21
st place with a 233, and
Maria Garcia tied for 31
st place with a 240.
Roxane Nataf, playing as an individual, finished in 47
th place with a 246.
