LAKE CHARLES, La. - The McNeese baseball and softball programs are teaming up officially kick-off their seasons with the annual Diamond Dinner on Friday, January 28. The alumni game for the baseball program will take place the following day.
The event, which serves as the two program's premier fundraiser will take place from 6-9 p.m. at the Magnolia House Events in Lake Charles.
The night will begin with a social hour from 6-7 p.m., with a cash bar available throughout the event. Dinner will be served around 7 p.m., and supporters will hear from both baseball head coach Justin Hill and softball head coach James Landreneau regarding the upcoming season, prior to the beginning of the live auction.
A silent auction will be held with a variety of items up for bid while those in attendance will have a chance to walk away with a variety of door prizes.
There are four levels of reserved tables for the event:
- Single ($1,000) - Reserved table for eight, gift for table purchaser, and name on display.
- Double ($2,500) - Reserved table for eight, gift for table purchaser, name on display, a bottle of bourbon, and a pistol for the purchaser.
- Triple ($5,000) - Reserved table for eight, name on display, bottle of bourbon, pistol for the table purchaser, waitress for the table, shotgun for the table purchaser, two VIP passes for all McNeese 2022 spring sporting events.
- Home Run ($10,000) - Reserved table for eight, name on display, bottle of bourbon, pistol for the table purchaser, waitress for the table, shotgun for the table purchaser. The table purchaser also has the option to upgrade the shotgun, two VIP passes for all McNeese 2022 spring sporting events and your choice of: Argentina Dove Hunt for 5 or African Safari for 2 Hunter and 2 Non-Hunters.

The Cowboys will also host an alumni game at 1 p.m. the next day (Jan. 29) at Joe Miller Ballpark.
Admission to the scrimmage, which features McNeese baseball alumni squaring off against the 2022 Cowboys, is free. Baseball alumni wishing to participate in the game are asked to RSVP through assistant coach Jimmy Ricklefsen at jricklefsen@mcneese.edu. BP will begin at 11:15 and end at 12:30.
