CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The McNeese Cowgirl soccer team (6-5-0) hits the road Sunday as it travels to Corpus Christi to take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3-4-3). Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

The Cowgirls enter Sunday afternoon's match coming off a 3-2 win over Stephen F. Austin at home on Thursday, marking their first win over the Ladyjacks since the 2019 season. Three different Cowgirls found the back of the net against SFA, starting with Emma Korhonen, who scored in the third minute of play. Gabbi Barusic added McNeese's second goal in the 32nd minute to give the Cowgirls a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime. Rhiannon Maynes-Tourond then netted the game-winning goal in the 47th minute.

The Islanders were picked to finish seventh in the Southland Conference Preseason Poll. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi enters Sunday's match coming off a 1-1 draw against UTRGV on Thursday. The Islanders are led offensively by Katie Porter, who has a team-high six goals and 14 points this season.
