He brought championship tennis to McNeese State in the 1950s when he started up the program and recruited such players as Carlos Perez, Vicente Hernandez and Frederico Zarazua (all members of the McNeese Hall of Fame) from Mexico. In 1958 the Cowboys went 22-2 and won the school’s first conference title and then won again in 1959 with a 12-6 mark. Lee also served the university as vice president for business affairs and was with McNeese for almost 30 years. After his retirement he joined the city of Lake Charles as business manager. He is now retired and living in Lake Charles.
