Hall of Fame
He was a starter on the national championship basketball team of 1956 and he was also a standout and team MVP in track where he ran the 800 yard dash, on the relays and long jumped. He was the first McNeese athlete to become a four year, two sport standout. In basketball, he was noted mainly for his defensive play, and that play helped the Cowboys to a 33-3 record in the 1955-56 season. He was an excellent free throw shooter and ranked as a team leader in that championship year. He was also named the school's most athletic soldier while in the ROTC and he went on to spend a good part of his life in the military, retiring as a captain. For numerous years he has ranked as one of the top amateur golfers in Southwest Louisiana.
