A distance running standout for the Cowgirls from 1990 to 1993, she still ranks among the top five in two races. During her career she earned three team MVP awards and won five Southland Conference titles (three times a 10,000 meter champion and twice a champion in the 5,000 meters). In both 1991 and 1993 she won two league titles in the same year. She was also a cross country leader for the Cowgirls and helped them to a second place finish in the conference meet in 1992. For the 1991-92 school year she was named the McNeese athlete of the year. She is married to McNeese track coach Brendon Gilroy and resides in Lake Charles.
