A native of Simpson, he played four seasons for the Cowboys, being a starter for three. He was the second lead­ing scorer on the NAIA national championship team of 1955-56. He averaged 12.5 points per game that year along with 7.5 rebounds and wound up his career with 854 points. In one NAIA tournament game he scored 10 straight points on the way to a 28 point night. Following graduation he served in the U. S. Army, having been a ROTC distin­guished student at McNeese. He would later work in the lab at Cities Service and after obtaining a master degree in fisheries from LSU would spend 34 years with the state wildlife and fisheries department, retiring in 1999.
