He was a two-way performer who starred as both a tight end and defensive end in the mid-1960s for the Cowboys. Guidry lettered three years and twice earned all-Gulf States Conference recognition. He played on the undefeated team of 1963 and on two GSC championship squads. In 1964 he led the Cowboys in pass receiving with 11 catches for 225 yards and a touchdown. Following his career at McNeese he went on to more stardom as a defensive end in the pro­fessional ranks, playing for both Buffalo (drafted in 8th round) and Houston. He served as the defensive captain for the Bills.
