Hall of Fame
One of the top lefthanders in McNeese State baseball history, he won 25 games and still holds five school records. His 29 complete games and his nine shutouts remain as school records as does the 15 batters he struckout in a seven inning game. For three straight years he led the Cowboys in won-lost record and in 1979 went 7-2 with a 2.97 ERA and 82 strikeouts. He went on to play nine seasons in the major leagues with the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins. He had a 25-26 won-lost record in the majors including a 16-11 mark with the Yankees (8-2 in 1983). He lives in Lake Charles
