He was a two sport standout who was an all-conference selection in both sports, starring in the 1950s for the Cowboys. In basketball he was an all-Gulf States Conference and all-Louisiana pick and in baseball he was a two-time all league pick, being named player of the year in the GSC in 1956 when he led the Cowboys to the con­ference title. Twice he was named the team MVP in base­ball, going 8-2 on the mound in 1956 and 7-4 in 1958. His 18 total victories continues to rank seventh on the all-time McNeese list. He was a starter on the Cowboy NAIA championship team in 1955-56. He lives in Indiana.
