He was one of the top defensive backs in McNeese State history. He played from 1993 to 1996 and in 1996 was the team captain and also the team's most valuable player. He is third on the McNeese all-time list for interceptions with 19 and he picked off nine in 1993. He was named to four all-America teams in 1996 and he is one of the few players in Southland Conference history to be named to the all-league team four straight years. He is fifth on McNeese's career tackle chart. He went on to play professionally eight sea­sons with the San Francisco 49ers and is now a high school coach.
