An all-conference performer he played for the Cowboys in the late 1970s, performing in the first Independence Bowl and also playing on the 1979 undefeated, untied team that also played in the Independence Bowl, taking on Syracuse. He was named the team's outstanding defensive player in 1979 and he was invited to and was a starter in the Blue-Gray football game that year. He was credited with 153 tackles during his career, making 68 in 1979 along with a season high six quarterback sacks. Following graduation he went into private business and lives in Baton Rouge.
