He was McNeese’s first Division I all-American, earning such honors as a tight end in 1972 from the Associated Press. That year he led the Cowboys in pass receiving with 29 catches for 445 yards and five touchdowns. He would lead the team in pass receiving three straight years and conclude his career with 76 catches for 1,124 yards which ranks 12th on the school’s all-time chart. He was also an all-Southland Conference pick and a four year Cowboy letterman. Moore, a native of New Orleans, would go on to a career in education as both a coach and a teacher.
