Twice he was named the team’s most valuable player and twice he won all-Gulf States Con-ference honors. He concluded his career at McNeese with 1,505 points and a 14.9 average. Briley’s top single game average was a 24.3 mark he produced in the 1964-65 season, the fourth highest in McNeese history. He would later have a successful run as a high school basketball coach and principal.
