He was one of the early top shooters in McNeese basketball history. The team’s most valuable player in 1952, he led the Cowboys in scoring that season with a 15.6 mark and in 1953 with a 17.3 average. He was also the team rebound leader in ‘53 and wound up his career with 1,442 career points and a 15.0 scoring average, presently 17th on the school’s all-time list. In 1953 he also led the Cowboys to a second place showing in the Gulf States Conference in Ralph Ward’s first season as head coach. After graduation he went into business with Miller’s House for Sports in Lake Charles and continues to live in the Lake Charles area.
