MICHAEL ROBERSON
Roberson, a native of Lake Charles, became  McNeese's  first national track and field champion when he won the NCAA's indoor high jump title in 1996. He was a two year standout for the Cowboys and continues to hold the school record in the event, 7-5 ¼ indoors and 7-5 ¾ outdoors. Named the McNeese MVP in both 1996 and 1997, he won three SLC titles, the indoor crown in 1996 and 1997 and the outdoor in 1997, also being named the conference's field event athlete of the year. A highlight of his career was being invited to and participating in the Olympic trials in 1996.  He later enlisted in the Marine Corps, spending three and a half years in service.
