    He became McNeese State's all-time leading tackler during his four year career and in his senior year he was named to five all-America teams.
Three times he led the team in tackles and his career mark of 486 tackles and his season high of 171 tackles (1998) still stand as school records.
Two straight years he was an all-SLC and all-Louisiana first team pick at linebacker and in 1998 he was named the SLC defensive player of the year and the McNeese MVP.
He went on to earn a master degree from McNeese and play professionally in the indoor football league.
He had a successful career as a high school football coach and teacher before returning to McNeese in 2016 to coach the linebackers.Â
