Cutright, a Zwolle native, played for the Cowboys' basketball team from 1986-89 and helped lead the Cowboys to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 1989.

He earned all-conference honors during his career and is the last McNeese player to score at least 50 points in a game (51 vs. Stephen F. Austin in the 1989 SLC Tournament first round). That number ranks as the third-highest point total in school history.

His 1,703 career points scored ranks him eighth on the school's career scoring record list. His 611 points scored his senior season is ranked as the eighth-most in school history by a senior.

Curtright was named the school's Athlete of the Year for the 1988-89 athletic season and was the MVP of the 1989 Southland Conference Tournament.
