He was a two-time all-American for the Cowboys, earning honors as both a center (1975) and an offensive tackle (1974) from the Associated Press. Three straight times he was also named to the all-Southland Conference and the all-Louisiana teams. He was named McNeese’s outstand­ing offensive player for three years and played in the East-West and the Senior Bowl games. He was a second round draft choice of the Pittsburgh Steelers and played in the professional ranks until injuries forced him to retire. He now is employed in the oil industry and lives in Lafayette
