He was among the early standout milers in McNeese his­tory and at one time held the school record with a 4:07.7 clocking. Morgan was also one of the team leaders in the half mile and the two mile run during his career that ran from 1968 to 1970. In 1969 he led the Cowboys in scoring and also had 11 first place medals. That same year he was named the team’s most valuable athlete and won the mile run at the Gulf States Conference championship meet. Following college he went into the construction business and lives in Lake Charles.
