As a collegian, however, he was one of the best, setting school and conference records and leading the Cowboys to an astonishing 43-10 record and two league titles. Joseph still holds McNeese records for either passing or total offense and he concluded his career with 7,874 yards passing, 67 touchdowns passing and 9,674 yards total offense. Among his awards were those for Southland Conference and Louisiana collegiate player of the year, McNeese MVP and Louisiana amateur athlete of the year.
