 He was the dominate pitcher in the Southland Conference during a two year career with the Cowboys (1989 and 1990). In 1990 he led the league in ERA (1.58), in victo­ries (10) and in strikeouts (116). He had a career record of 15-6, was named the team's MVP and set a school record in 1990 with 19 strikeouts in a nine inning game against UL-Lafayette. He also struckout 15 in a seven inning game with Louisiana College. He went on to play 11 sea­sons of professional baseball, posting a 4-4 record in the majors with stints at Texas, Milwaukee and San Diego. Following his professional career he went into the coach­ing ranks and is now the head coach of the Cowboys.
